  • What are the EPC rules from 1 April 2023?
    THE KEY CHANGES FROM 1 APRIL 2023? From 1 April 2023 it will be unlawful to continue to let a commercial property with an F or G EPC rating, even if the lease was granted prior to the MEES Regulations coming into force in 2018.
  • How quickly can I get a Commercial EPC?
    We operate a Nationwide Commercial EPC service. The whole process of acquiring a Commercial EPC certificate can take up to 48 and 72 hours for commercial customers. Domestic energy EPC reports tend to be faster than the Commercial Energy Performance Certificate. However, at Same Day EPC we can offer this service TODAY!
  • Can I remortgage without an EPC?
    If you want to get your loan or remortgage etc. you will need to have a valid EPC with a high enough rating such as a C rating.
  • Can I rent my property without a valid EPC?
    From 1 April 2020, the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards apply to all existing tenancies – not just new ones or renewals. If your property doesn't have a valid EPC rating of 'E' or above, it cannot be legally let.
  • How much does a Domestic EPC cost in the UK?
    between £50 and £120 An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) usually costs between £50 and £120 (including VAT). The cost depends on a number of factors, including the type of property you own and how many bedrooms it has.
  • What are the new EPC rules for 2023?
    From 1 April 2023, it will be an offence to continue to let or rent out a property if it does not have a rating of at least E. The penalty is based on the rateable value of the property and will be between £10,000 – £150,000 per breach. Details of the breach may also be made publicly available.
  • Can I buy a or rent a property without an EPC?
    You can be fined if you do not get an EPC when you need one. The person selling or renting the property, the landlord or the letting agent must show you the EPC if you're buying or renting.
  • What will fail an EPC?
    For existing buildings there is no pass or fail criteria for an EPC check so, an existing property can't fail an EPC check. If it is very inefficient, it will simply be given the lowest rating of G.
